Key hires join Team Tokenovate.
We’re delighted to open our doors to a number of new Tokenauts (or is it Tokenovistas? Tokeneers? Tokenudlians?). Regardless, in the last few weeks, we’ve welcomed Andy, Mengyan, Steve and Vishal to the engineering team.
Andy Roberts joins as our Head of Engineering. Andy is a seasoned technical leader and architect with deep experience in building distributed enterprise systems and leading high-performing engineering teams. He joins us from Apollo GraphQL, where he led the EMEA Enterprise Solutions organisation, designing large-scale solutions for more than 25 Fortune 500 companies. Before that, Andy headed API Engineering at RS Components, where he led eleven teams powering a £2bn+ e-commerce operation. At Tokenovate, Andy will be taking the reins of our application engineering function — driving delivery, accelerating execution, and helping us scale with quality, speed, and impact.
Mengyan Li perfectly slots in as our Senior Software Engineer in the CDM team. Mengyan has always been passionate about fintech and trading, and she loves solving complex problems through technology. Before joining Tokenovate, Mengyan gained valuable experience working at global enterprises in Silicon Valley like Dolby to innovative UK companies such as Ocado and Marshmallow. Her interest in the intersection of finance and technology deepened during her time at Featurespace, a Visa solution, where she led the development of a core real-time, event-driven ML platform for financial crime detection. What drew Mengyan to Tokenovate is its vision to express financial terms and legal agreements as code, and to truly automate post-trade processes – what we’re building really has the potential to redefine how the financial world operates.
Steve Rigby, o on the other hand, takes up the role as our Head of Platform. In this role he will be leading our platform team, cloud engineering and infrastructure efforts – from architecture and deployment through to the services that underpin our application engineering and operations. Our platform underpins all our services, so Steve’s job isn’t an easy one. But with a distinguished career under his belt at both “start-ups” and “grown-ups”, compliance, security, DevOps and managing cloud infrastructure comes very natural to him. Steve was particularly drawn to the Tokenovate’s collaborative ethos and the opportunity to work hands-on with the cutting-edge products being developed to drive innovation in the financial sector
Finally, Vishal Joshi is now our Principal Engineer, focusing on CDM. Vishal is very excited to join Tokenovate, and assume a front row seat in the transformation of post-trade processes through tokenisation, smart contracts, and distributed event-driven systems. Vishal strongly believes standards like the CDM will revolutionise how the capital market operates. He brings over 15 years of experience in architecture and software development for enterprise applications. He joins us from EMBL-EBI, where he spent the last 8 years leading teams and building cloud-based data processing platforms for life science and biology applications.
With these Fantastic Four in place, we are ready to roll out more features, better functionality, a lot faster. Welcome!
